Indonesian Air Force Hercules delivers health support and forest fire equipment to South Kalimantan
Banjarbaru (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force Hercules A-1340 aircraft has landed at the Sjamsudin Noor Air Base apron, carrying health support and equipment for the management of forest and land fires (karhutla) in South Kalimantan.
“The arriving goods include seven oxygen cylinders provided by the Pazam 734 Unit of HND Air Base, Satharpazam 73, Depohar 70, and Koharmatau, as well as 500 units of fire hoses provided by the Ministry of Defence,” stated the Commander of Sjamsudin Noor Air Base, Colonel Pnb Hilman L.P. Ambarita, in Banjarbaru on Thursday.
Upon arrival, the support was immediately unloaded from the aircraft by Air Base personnel to be prepared and distributed according to the needs of the personnel involved in fire management.
The Air Base Commander explained that the seven oxygen cylinders are part of the health support for personnel undergoing medical examinations and oxygen recovery.
The objective is to help ensure that the physical condition of personnel returns to optimal levels both before and after performing duties in managing forest fires.
The Commander stated that Sjamsud Noor Air Base is ready to support the smooth receipt and distribution of various aid intended for forest fire management in South Kalimantan.
Every piece of support that arrives will be immediately followed up according to field requirements.
“Equipment support is a vital part of maintaining the continuity of field operations, considering that forest fire management requires adequate personnel and equipment readiness,” he added.
To date, forest and land fires in South Kalimantan have not been fully brought under control.
In Banjarbaru, specifically within the ring 1 area of Syamsudin Noor International Airport in the Guntung Damar and Tegal Arum areas, many lands remain on fire.
Joint personnel from the Land Task Force are struggling daily in firefighting efforts, which include aerial water bombing operations using helicopters from the BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency).
