Indonesian Air Force distributes 729 tonnes of logistics for earthquake victims in NTT

The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has distributed 729 tonnes of logistical aid for earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

According to an official TNI AU press release received in Jakarta on Monday, the figure represents the total amount of aid sent by the Air Force over 15 consecutive days up to Saturday (29/8).

Head of the TNI AU Information Service (Kadispenau) Air Vice Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana explained that the majority of the logistical aid was dispatched from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta.

The aid, Nyoman continued, was transported using a range of cargo aircraft, from the Hercules C-130 to the largest aircraft in the TNI AU fleet, the A400M.

In the same press release, Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base Air Vice Marshal Ali Gusman explained that logistical delivery activities from the base are still ongoing.

He confirmed that his team will continue efforts to distribute aid until the situation in NTT gradually recovers.

“We want the people of NTT to know that they are not alone. The TNI AU will continue to support the distribution of aid for as long as it is needed,” said the Air Base Commander.
