Indonesia Urges All Parties to Exercise Restraint and Respect Ceasefire Following Attack in UAE
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has urged all parties to exercise restraint in connection with the missile and drone attacks on oil refineries in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on (4/5/2026).
“Indonesia urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint, fully respect the ceasefire, and uphold international law, including the protection of civilian infrastructure,” stated the Foreign Ministry, as quoted from its official X account on Tuesday (6/5/2026).
“Indonesia is ready to support de-escalation efforts and encourage dialogue towards sustainable peace and stability in the region,” it emphasised.
Meanwhile, Indonesian citizens (WNI) in the UAE have been advised to remain calm and vigilant, and to follow instructions from local authorities, the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Indonesian Consulate General in Dubai.
The UAE Ministry of Defence stated that their air defence systems successfully intercepted 15 missiles and four drones launched by Iran.
Authorities in the emirate of Fujairah, in eastern UAE, reported that one drone triggered a fire at a major oil facility and injured three Indian nationals.
Tehran has neither confirmed nor denied the attack.
However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, on Tuesday morning (5/5/2026) via his X account, warned the United States (US) and the UAE not to be drawn back into war.
