Indonesia Trusted Twice to Host IAWP Conference
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that it is an honour for Indonesia to be trusted once again to host the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Annual Training Conference for the second time.
“It is an honour for Indonesia to be trusted to host the IAWP Conference for the second time, after previously being held in Labuan Bajo in 2021,” said Listyo in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
The National Police Chief made the remarks while opening The 63rd International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Annual Training Conference 2026 in Bali on Sunday.
Indonesia previously hosted the international conference in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, in 2021.
Listyo welcomed delegates from various countries arriving in Bali. He expressed hope that the atmosphere and hospitality of Bali would provide a positive experience while strengthening the relationships between various police institutions.
According to him, the participants are present not only as representatives of various nations but also bring a spirit of friendship and togetherness to support one another and provide the best service to the community.
He continued that the meeting also serves as a space for female police officers from different countries to exchange experiences, learn from one another, share best practices, expand networks, and build lasting friendships and cooperation.
Listyo assessed that this international forum is increasingly relevant amidst the evolving challenges of law enforcement. Through a stronger network, the experiences and knowledge held by each country can be shared to support the execution of policing duties.
He also invited all participants to use their differing countries, experiences, and backgrounds as a strength to bring meaningful change.
“Together, we empower women. Together, we strengthen policing. Together, we maintain peace. And together, we lead global change,” said Listyo.
The National Police Chief hopes that the 2026 IAWP conference will not only strengthen interpersonal relationships but also further tighten cooperation between police institutions from various countries.
