The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), has assured the prompt repatriation of the body of an Indonesian soldier who died as a result of an Israeli attack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters on Sunday night (29/3/2026).

Kemenlu has also ensured that care will be provided for the injured soldiers.

It is known that the indirect artillery attack killed one soldier and injured three others serving with UNIFIL.

“Indonesia is working with UNIFIL to ensure the repatriation of the body is carried out promptly and to provide the best medical care for the injured,” stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its official X account @Kemlu_RI on Monday (30/3/2026).

The government extends its highest respects to the fallen personnel for their dedication and service to international peace and security.

“Our prayers and sympathies are with the bereaved family, and we pray for the full recovery of the injured personnel,” it added.

Furthermore, the government strongly condemns Israel’s attack and calls for a comprehensive and transparent investigation.

In fact, the safety and security of UN peacekeepers must always be fully respected in accordance with international law.

“Indonesia once again strongly condemns Israel’s attack in southern Lebanon and calls on all parties to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, to halt attacks that endanger civilians and civilian infrastructure, and to return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and achieve peace,” it explained.

For information, the indirect artillery attack struck the position of the Indonesian contingent near Adchit Al Qusayr on Sunday (29/3/2026).

This incident resulted in one soldier killed and three others injured.

“There are casualties from TNI soldiers: one deceased, one in serious condition, and two with minor injuries,” said Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of Information at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defence, to Kompas.com on Monday (30/3/2026).

“And the clarification process is still being carried out by UNIFIL,” he added.
