Indonesia to Host World Events in 2026-2027, Here's the List
The government, through the Cabinet Secretariat (Setkab), has launched the Indonesia Event Calendar 2026-2027, a national agenda featuring various international-scale activities to be held across the country from August 2026 to February 2027. The calendar showcases a range of events, from world music concerts and cultural festivals to international sports competitions, running events, creative exhibitions, and the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day commemoration. “It is time to explore Indonesia and enjoy a variety of exciting performances across the country. Throughout 2026 to early 2027, various sports events, cultural festivals, music concerts, and national and international-scale exhibitions will be held across the archipelago,” the Cabinet Secretariat stated on its official Instagram account. This move is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a host for world-class events while promoting the tourism, creative economy, sports, and entertainment industries. The calendar conveys the message that Indonesia is ready to host international events capable of attracting both domestic and foreign tourists, whilst providing an economic impact for local businesses, ranging from the hospitality and transportation sectors to culinary ventures and MSMEs. The agenda begins in August 2026, the busiest month. International concerts scheduled include Sounds of Downtown on 1-2 August at the Surabaya Expo Center, Aston Villa vs Indonesia All Stars on 1 August at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta, and The Sounds Project 2026 on 7-9 August at Allianz Ecopark Ancol. Football fans will also be treated to a pre-season match between AC Milan and Chelsea on 8 August at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. Other events include DWP Shoreline Bali 2026 on 16 August at Café del Mar Bali, the Maybank Marathon Bali on 21-23 August at the Bali United Training Center, the iKON ‘4UREVER’ World Tour concert on 21 August at Istora Senayan, LALALA Festival 2026 on 22-23 August at JIExpo Kemayoran, and Anime Festival Asia Indonesia on 15-16 August at ICE BSD, Tangerang. August also features national agendas commemorating Indonesia’s Independence Day. The government has scheduled the 81st Independence Day Ceremony on 17 August at the Merdeka Palace and the Monas area, followed by the 81st Independence Day Carnival that evening from Monas to the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout. Towards the end of the month, the public can participate in the Merdeka Run 2026 on 29 August, taking a route through the Merdeka Palace and HI Roundabout area. Entering September 2026, the national calendar remains packed with international events. K-Pop fans will be welcomed by the U-KNOW Project 26 Scene #1 World Tour on 12 September at Tennis Indoor Senayan and the MAMAMOO World Tour 4WARD on 19 September at NICE PIK 2, Tangerang. The design industry also receives attention through Indonesia Design Week, running from 18-27 September at the Indonesia Design District (IDD), PIK 2. In the sports sector, the Jakarta Triathlon 2026 is scheduled for 13 September at Ancol Carnival Beach. Meanwhile, Indonesia will host the FIFA ASEAN Cup from 23 September to 3 October at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. Other agendas include the Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFest) on 11-20 September at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Pestapora 2026 on 25-27 September at JIExpo Kemayoran, and The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn World Tour concert on 26-27 September at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). In October 2026, the line-up of international events becomes more diverse. Pop culture enthusiasts can attend Indonesia Comic Con on 3-4 October at NICE PIK 2, Tangerang, while K-Pop fans will be treated to the NCT 127 The Redline Tour concert on 3 October at Indonesia Arena and the BABYMONSTER World Tour on 17 October at the same venue. The sports sector is back in the spotlight with the MotoGP GP Mandalika on 9-11 October at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok. Other events include Avenged Sevenfold Live in Indonesia on 10 October at Jakarta International Stadium, Synchronize Fest 2026 on 16-18 October at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, a Running Festival on 22-25 October, Kanye West Ye Live in Jakarta on 24 October at GBK, Jakarta Fashion Week 2027 from 27 October to 2 November at City Hall PIM 3, and the LANY Soft World Tour on 29-30 October at Indonesia Arena. November 2026 sees Indonesia packed with international music concerts. The calendar notes the 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) Everyone’s A Star Tour on 14 November at Indonesia Arena, followed by Guns N’ Roses Live in Jakarta on 21 November at the Madya GBK Stadium, and My Chemical Romance Live in Jakarta on 22 November at Jakarta International Stadium. The Borobudur Marathon 2026 will also be held on 15 November in Magelang, Central Java. The Simple Plan Indonesia Tour takes place on 27 November in Jakarta and 28 November in Surabaya, alongside the Joyland Sessions 2026 music festival on 28-29 November in the Gelora Bung Karno area. The international agenda continues in December 2026. Electronic music lovers will be treated to Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) 2026 on 11-13 December at JIExpo Kemayoran. In the world of motorsport, Indonesia will host the FIA Rallycross World Cup Indonesia 2026 on 5-6 December at the Ancol E-Prix Circuit.
