Indonesia to host ex-Globetrotters

JAKARTA: Harlem MagicMasters Tour, an international basketball
entertainment team, will perform in three cities in Indonesia
starting next month, the organizers announced here on Wednesday.

Jointly organized by Hewlett Packard and Mahaka Sports, the
team is scheduled to play in Jakarta on Jan. 31, Medan Feb. 2 and
Surabaya Feb. 4.

Team Harlem consists of players who used to play in NBA and
NCAA.

Among the players are Marques Haynes, a former NBA Hall of
Fame and Harlem Globetrotters member, John Smith, former NCAA
star Jay Bryant and former USBL and Nike Pro-Am player Shawn
Grant.

The team will perform unique basketball plays and tricks,
including acrobatic slams and tricky hoops. It is also expected
to have friendly games with an Indonesian All-Star team made up
of Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) players. --JP
