Indonesia to Host Asia's First Quantum AI Data Centre with USD 400 Million Investment
Warta Ekonomi, Jakarta - Indonesia is set to become a cutting-edge computing hub based on artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology in Asia through the investment in Asia's first Quantum AI Data Centre. The initial phase of the project, facilitated by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), will absorb USD 400 million in investment, equivalent to approximately Rp 6 trillion.
The investment plan was revealed during the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Worldvuer iByond Limited, a Silicon Valley-based technology company, and Tunas Prima Industrial Estate, held in Jakarta on 9 July 2025. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of BKPM Todotua Pasaribu, and attended by Her Highness Princess Anne Shek, Chairman of the Advisory Board for Asia at Worldvuer iByond Limited.
"This is in line with President Prabowo's directive targeting 8 per cent economic growth towards Golden Indonesia 2045. The digital economy, particularly data centres, is a key pillar for achieving this. Indonesia has extraordinary potential in this sector, and we are ready to be the primary partner in building Asia's digital future," said Deputy Investment Minister Todotua, as quoted from a BKPM press release on Friday (11 July).
The data centre will be built in the Tunas Prima area, a green industrial estate located in Batam, Riau Islands, which has already implemented renewable energy-based infrastructure such as solar panels and independent water treatment facilities. The estate has previously attracted investment from global manufacturers including Apple iPhone and AirTags.
Worldvuer iByond Limited is the developer of the Vovea iByond Operating System, a system that integrates various types of advanced computing technology — including quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics — to deliver speed and processing capacity far exceeding conventional data centres. Indonesia will serve as the first base for this technology in Asia, following earlier development in Silicon Valley and the Middle East.
