Indonesia supports UK ban on imports from illegal Israeli settlements
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia, along with seven friendly nations, supports the United Kingdom’s decision to officially ban imports and restrict services related to illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a written statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia received in Jakarta on Thursday, the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed hope that the UK’s decisive action would be followed by the entire international community.

The boycott action is deemed consistent with international legal guidelines and United Nations (UN) resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2016 (2334), which opposes the expansion of Israeli settlements, as well as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Advisory Opinion dated 19 July 2024.
According to reports from the Turkish news agency, Anadolu, UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced before the UK House of Commons on Tuesday (8/9) the ban on imports from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, alongside sanctions against companies and individuals involved in settlement expansion.
Miliband also announced additional sanctions against extremist Israeli citizens accused of supporting or inciting violence against Palestinians.

Miliband stated that the British Government agrees that “ethnic cleansing of Palestinians” has occurred in the West Bank, occupied by Israeli
