Indonesia Strongly Condemns Israeli Attack that Killed TNI Personnel in UNIFIL in Lebanon

Jakarta - Indonesia, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), has strongly condemned the Israeli attack near Adchit Al Qusayr on Sunday night (29/3/2026). The attack is known to have killed one Indonesian soldier and injured three others who were serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The incident occurred amid reports of exchanges of fire between the Israeli military and armed groups in southern Lebanon. “Indonesia strongly condemns the incident and calls for a thorough and transparent investigation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated via its official X account @Kemlu_RI on Monday (30/3/2026). According to the ministry, any actions that endanger peacekeepers are unacceptable and disrupt joint efforts to maintain peace and stability. Therefore, Indonesia strongly condemns this incident. “Indonesia once again strongly condemns the Israeli attack in southern Lebanon and calls on all parties to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, to stop attacks that endanger civilians and civilian infrastructure, and to return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and achieve peace,” the ministry emphasised. Indonesia extends sympathies to the bereaved family and prays for the full recovery of the injured personnel. “Indonesia is deeply saddened by this loss. We extend our highest respects to the fallen personnel for their dedication and service to international peace and security,” the ministry wrote. In addition, the government will cooperate with UNIFIL to ensure the prompt repatriation of the remains. The same applies to providing the best medical care for the injured. “Indonesia continues to coordinate closely with the UN and relevant authorities, and will continue to monitor the situation’s developments closely,” the ministry wrote. For information, Israel attacked the Indonesian unit’s headquarters around Adchit Al Qusayr yesterday. As a result of this attack, several personnel were reported killed and injured.
