Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery at Bung Hatta University's Faculty of Economics and Business Hosts Public Lecture
The Faculty of Economics and Business at Bung Hatta University collaborated with the Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery at Bung Hatta University to hold a public lecture themed ‘Prepare for Old Age Thoroughly through Mutual Funds’ in the siding room of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Campus II, Bung Hatta University, Jl. Bagindo Aziz Chan, Aia Pacah ByPass, Padang, on 29 April 2026.
The event was attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and students from the Master’s in Management programme, featuring two competent speakers in the capital market field: Early Saputra, Head of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Representative Office in West Sumatra, and Nyoman Bayu Wiyono, Mutual Fund Counsellor at PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas.
Both speakers presented material on the basic concepts of investment, types of mutual funds, benefits and risks of investing, and strategies for managing portfolios according to each investor’s risk profile.
FEB Dean at Bung Hatta University, Dr. Listiana Sri Mulatsih, S.E., M.M., CEAP, and Rika Desiyanti, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Coordinator of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery at FEB Bung Hatta University, who is also the Head of the Master’s in Management Study Programme, also attended the public lecture and provided support for the implementation of academic activities oriented towards improving financial literacy, encouraging all parties to actively participate in promoting capital market education among students.
The Dean stated that the theme ‘Prepare for Old Age Thoroughly through Mutual Funds’ was chosen to provide comprehensive understanding of the importance of long-term financial planning, particularly in facing retirement. Participants were equipped with insights on how investment can be one solution to achieving financial stability in the future.
She hopes that the public lecture can serve as a sustainable educational platform to increase capital market literacy, as well as equip the academic community with the ability to manage finances wisely and planned to achieve financial well-being in the future.
