Indonesia Signs Industrial MoU with Russia's Kirov Region at INNOPROM 2026
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Kirov Region, Russia, as part of Indonesia’s role as Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, aimed at expanding cooperation in raw material trade, chemical products, industrial components and technology transfer.

Both parties agreed to organise seminars, conferences and business visits to strengthen collaboration between institutions and companies.
The MoU focuses on four main sectors: raw material trade, chemical products, industrial components and technology transfer. According to Warta Ekonomi, the agreement leverages Kirov’s manufacturing strengths whilst bolstering Indonesia’s production capabilities through the transfer of knowledge and equipment. Both parties also target increased bilateral investment in research and development, which will expand Indonesia’s supplier network into the Russian market. As a result, national industry is expected to gain easier access to Eurasian markets, increase export value and accelerate the modernisation of production processes in the medium term.
The Partner Country status gives Indonesia an exclusive platform to showcase its industrial capabilities to Russian partners. IQPlus noted that through bilateral meetings at INNOPROM, Indonesian businesses can connect directly with supplier networks in Kirov Region, opening opportunities to place chemical products and manufacturing components within Russian supply chains. The platform also facilitates the exchange of economic information and the scheduling of business visits, enabling Indonesian companies to identify the specific needs of the Russian market. The access granted by Partner Country status therefore not only raises visibility but also accelerates the formation of strategic alliances that can integrate Indonesian products into Russian industrial production systems.
The Ministry of Industry will coordinate delegation visits, seminars and business forums to bring the MoU into effect. Tri Supondy, Director General of KPAII, stated that a Kirov delegation will be invited to the Indonesian Pavilion at INNOPROM and will make direct visits to Indonesia to explore investment and technology cooperation. A series of consultations and workshops will subsequently be held to prepare Indonesian companies to meet Kirov’s production standards, whilst the exchange of skilled workers will strengthen the human resources of national industry. The implementation of these steps is expected to increase export volumes of raw materials and components, attract foreign direct investment and accelerate technology transfer, all of which will boost the competitiveness of Indonesian industry in global markets.
