Indonesia Seeks Digital Investment Through Bali Tech Week 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid said Bali Tech Week 2026, to be held from 19 to 23 October 2026, would serve as a platform to attract investment and restore investor confidence in Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.
Meutya said Indonesia had considerable assets for developing its digital economy, which was valued at US$99 billion in 2025, having grown by 14 per cent. That potential needed to be strengthened by building investor confidence through collaboration among the government, industry players, start-ups and technology communities.
“We understand that we cannot build investor confidence on our own. This is collaborative work that requires many parties,” Meutya said at a press conference for Bali Tech Week 2026 at the Communications and Digital Affairs Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
She explained that Bali Tech Week would not only bring investors and technology industry players together, but also provide a forum for the government to gather industry input when formulating policies to support the investment climate.
Alongside regulatory certainty, Meutya stressed the importance of fair business competition, including for start-ups and local entrepreneurs contributing to the development of the national digital economy.
Meanwhile, Communications and Digital Affairs Ministry Director General for the Digital Ecosystem Edwin Hidayat Abdullah said Bali Tech Week 2026 would take place from 19 to 23 October 2026 at the Bali Beach Convention Centre in Sanur, Bali.
The event will comprise 13 conference sessions and activities covering various parts of the digital ecosystem, including connectivity, cyber security, artificial intelligence, gaming and financial technology.
Edwin said each programme would address a different area, from connectivity and cyber security to the development of platforms, applications and the gaming industry.
A total of 1,785 participants from 30 countries have registered for the Bali Tech Conference, including attendees from Indonesia, the United States, China, Australia and India. The ministry is targeting 4,000 participants.
“We hope this will be a very beneficial event for all of us, particularly in reviving the investment climate, especially in the digital economy,” Edwin said.
