Indonesia Secures Three Global Awards in Aviation Training Sector
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has secured three global awards in the aviation training sector at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) 2026, held in Marrakech, Morocco.
The awards received include Platinum Member ICAO Trainair Plus, Most Implemented STP Across the Network through the Ramp Safety Awareness programme, and Highest Number of ICAO Training Packages Developed, stated the Head of PPSDMPU BPSDMP Kemenhub, M. Abrar Tuntalanai, in Jakarta on Sunday.
The awards were personally presented by ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, accompanied by Deputy Director of the Capacity, Development and Implementation Bureau ICAO, Miguel Marin, to the Head of the Centre for the Development of Human Resources in Air Transportation (PPSDMPU) of the Human Resources Development Agency for Transportation (BPSDMP) Kemenhub.
According to him, this achievement further affirms Indonesia’s position as one of the leaders and major contributors to the development of global aviation training, particularly within the framework of the Trainair Plus programme.
He stated that trainees not only receive learning based on global ICAO standards but are also exposed to training packages used in the worldwide aviation industry.
This makes the education process more applicable, aligned with industry needs, and strengthens technical competencies and safety awareness from an early stage.
As a result, graduates are no longer merely ready for work at the national level but possess international competency benchmarks, are more competitive in the global market, and have greater opportunities to be absorbed into the aviation industry, both domestically and abroad.
