Indonesia secures Rp380 trillion investment from Japan
Jakarta (ANTARA) -
Indonesia has secured more than Rp380 trillion (US$22.6 billion) in investment commitments from Japan during President Prabowo Subianto’s visit, marking a significant strengthening of bilateral economic ties.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the commitments reflect Indonesia’s growing appeal as a global investment destination and form part of broader bilateral agreements reached with Japan.
“This is evidence that Indonesia has become a magnet for world investment,” Wijaya told reporters in Tokyo on Monday.
He noted that the deal reflects international confidence in Indonesia’s business climate and economic continuity.

Prabowo is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Tuesday, alongside engagements with leading Japanese business executives facilitated by Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry Rosan Roeslani and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.
Teddy said around 12 major Japanese companies will meet the president, highlighting continued investor interest following similar engagements during Prabowo’s recent visit to the United States.
On Monday, Prabowo began his official visit with talks at the Imperial Palace, meeting Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince Fumihito to discuss strategic cooperation, including environmental protection and forest conservation.
The meeting lasted about 45 minutes and was followed by a state luncheon, with total palace engagements exceeding two hours, according to the Cabinet Secretariat.
Prabowo also attended the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum, where the investment commitments were announced, spanning both government and private sector partnerships.
