Indonesia rules HK regatta

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian paddlers maintained their victorious
tradition by winning the overall championship title, with four
gold and two silver medals, at the third Asian Dragon Boat Race
in Hong Kong on Wednesday.

The men's team won gold in the 1,000m and 500m races, and so
did the mixed team in the 500m and 800m sprints.

China finished second with two golds in the three-day event,
beating the Indonesian women's team in the 800m and 500m.
Indonesian official Budiman Setiawan said in a press release that
China forfeited the men's 500m race after accusing Indonesia of
cheating.

"The organizing committee refuted the accusation because it
was totally baseless," Setiawan said. (amd)
