Indonesia Requires Rp13,032 Trillion in Investment to Achieve 8 Per Cent Growth Target by 2029
Indonesia requires investment realisation of up to Rp13,032 trillion during the 2025-2029 period to achieve its target of 8 per cent economic growth by 2029. This information was conveyed directly by Riyatno, Deputy for Investment Climate Development at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.
"To achieve the increase towards the 8 per cent target, from 2025 to 2029 it turns out that investment of Rp13,032.8 trillion is needed," said Riyatno at the Grab Business Forum 2025 at Hotel Fairmont, Jakarta, on Thursday (8 May 2025).
He stated that the substantial investment realisation would create 3.47 million jobs, spread across both Java and the outer islands.
To reach the target, investment realisation in 2025 must reach Rp1,905 trillion, whilst the 2026 investment target has been set at Rp2,175 trillion. The government has subsequently targeted investment of Rp2,567 trillion in 2027, rising sharply to Rp2,969 trillion in 2028, with the 2029 investment target reaching Rp3,414 trillion.
"So the target is extraordinarily large — over the previous ten years, it was still smaller compared with the five-year target for 2025-2029," he emphasised.
