Indonesia Remains an Attractive Investment Magnet for Thai Investors

Indonesia remains one of the most attractive investment destinations in the region, including for Thai business players. The national economic resilience is seen as providing confidence for investors to continue expanding their businesses amidst various global challenges. Permata Bank President Director Meliza M. Rusli stated that Indonesia’s economic resilience offers optimism for the business world to see various opportunities and continue to grow. “For Thai business players, Indonesia is not only a market with huge potential, but also a place to build meaningful partnerships, strengthen regional connectivity, and create sustainable growth together,” Meliza said. Similarly, Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich assessed that Indonesia is one of the most attractive investment destinations in the region, particularly in the manufacturing, energy, and digital services sectors. According to him, besides having a large labour and consumer market, Indonesia has also been able to maintain consistent economic growth amid global uncertainty. He added that various regulatory reforms and infrastructure development carried out by the government have further created a more conducive investment climate. Policies encouraging the development of the national digital economy are also a particular attraction for investors. On this basis, Permata Bank together with Bangkok Bank organised the Indonesia Investment & Trade Forum 2026 to bring together business players, investors, and experts from Indonesia and Thailand to discuss various trade and investment opportunities. The event, held for the second time, carried the theme “Driving Growth and Creating Opportunities: Unlocking the Thailand & Indonesia Trade Corridor.” Chartsiri said the Indonesia Investment & Trade Forum reflects the high interest of Thai business players in investing in Indonesia, especially in sectors with high growth prospects. He affirmed that Permata Bank and Bangkok Bank are committed to being regional banking partners ready to assist Thai business players in developing sustainable businesses in Indonesia.
