Indonesia Remains a Magnet for Data Centre Investment
Indonesia remains a magnet for the development of data centres among global investors, amid challenges posed by global economic conditions and geopolitical situations. This is due to the strong momentum of digital transformation and the acceleration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology development, which targets nearly all industrial sectors.
The latest development sees BDx Data Centers, a leading data centre operator in Asia, announcing the acquisition of a US$320 million (equivalent to 5.4 trillion rupiah) loan facility to construct several data centre facilities in the Asian region. This funding facility is also for the further development of CGK3, an AI-focused data centre complex in the Jakarta CBD area, which has been operational since September 2025.
