Efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s footprint in the global market are continuing. The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in New York, together with vOffice InvestinAsia Group and the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS), has officially signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to support the development of the Indonesia Center New York. The platform is being prepared as a showcase for Indonesian business, investment, creative economy, and culture in the United States.

The signing, which took place at vOffice Centennial Tower in South Jakarta on Thursday (12/6), marks the initial step in building a hub that connects Indonesian business actors with global investors, creative communities, and various international stakeholders within an integrated ecosystem.

This initiative comes amid growing interest from Indonesian companies to penetrate international markets and significant global investor attention on the Southeast Asian region. The presence of the Indonesia Center New York is expected to serve as a bridge to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and the United States.

Indonesia’s Consul General in New York, Winanto Adi, stated that Indonesia possesses enormous economic, cultural, and creative potential that needs to be presented in a more integrated manner on the global stage. “This collaboration is an initial step to strengthen Indonesia’s presence in the United States through various programmes connecting business actors, investors, creative communities, and the international public,” Winanto said in a statement.

He expressed hope that the synergy would support the realisation of the Indonesia Center New York as a platform capable of introducing Indonesia comprehensively while opening new opportunities in trade, investment, and economic cooperation.

Within the collaboration, KJRI New York will play a role in strengthening economic diplomacy and bridging relations with various stakeholders in the United States. Meanwhile, GEKRAFS will drive the promotion of Indonesia’s creative economy in the global market. On the other hand, vOffice InvestinAsia Group will provide support through business services, investment, legality, and business development built over more than a decade.

vOffice InvestinAsia Group Director Erwin Arivianto Soerjono assessed that the need for Indonesian business actors to access global networks is growing. According to him, New York is one of the world’s most strategic business and investment centres. “Indonesia has many companies ready to expand internationally, but they still need broader access to business networks, investors, and global collaboration opportunities,” Erwin said. He hopes the Indonesia Center New York can become a meeting point for various business and investment opportunities within a more effective and integrated platform.

Currently, vOffice InvestinAsia Group has served more than 50,000 clients from various countries and has a network of over 40 locations in major cities across Indonesia. Through InvestinAsia, the company also actively assists foreign investors entering Indonesia while supporting national companies in expanding to international markets.

GEKRAFS Chairman Kawendra Lukistian assessed that cross-sector collaboration is key to increasing Indonesia’s exposure on the global stage. “Indonesia has extraordinary wealth in creativity, culture, and talent. We hope more Indonesian creative economy actors can gain access to international markets and expand their global networks,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sandiaga Uno, who serves on the Advisory Committee of vOffice InvestinAsia Group and is Chairman of the GEKRAFS Advisory Board, emphasised the importance of strengthening Indonesia’s presence in world economic centres. He noted that as the largest economy in Southeast Asia and a G20 member, Indonesia has great potential that needs to be supported by a strong and sustainable promotional platform. “The Indonesia Center New York is expected to become a strategic platform that introduces Indonesia’s culture, products, talent, and investment opportunities to the world while strengthening Indonesia’s nation branding,” Sandiaga said.

Going forward, the parties will explore various collaborative programmes ranging from investment promotion, business matching, and international business forums to networking activities and creative economy development.
