A total of 451 homebound travellers were dispatched by PT Pos Indonesia from Bandung and Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March. Four buses departed from PT Pos Indonesia’s headquarters on Jalan Cilaki in Bandung, whilst one bus departed from Jakarta.

PT Pos Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Daud Joseph, whilst seeing off the travellers, stated that the programme represents an effort to assist the public whilst bringing the company closer to its community.

“This activity is a form of corporate social responsibility that is held regularly every year. This year the number of homebound travellers is larger than in previous years,” he explained.

He added that Pos Indonesia must continue to strengthen its engagement with service users, as the company has needed to enhance its operations in logistics, courier services, finance and property sectors in recent years.

PT Pos Indonesia ensured the Free Travel programme was implemented to help the public return to their hometowns with safer and more comfortable travel ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

This year’s Free Travel State Enterprise Programme carries the theme “Safe Travel, Sharing Hope” with the spirit of “Comfortable Travel Together”. Through this programme, various state enterprises collaborate in providing transportation modes for the public, ranging from buses to trains and ships, to support smooth travel during the Eid period.

Daud Joseph added that Pos Indonesia’s participation in this programme represents the company’s contribution to providing direct benefits to the community.

“The Travel Programme Together with Pos Indonesia is a form of our gratitude to the public who have entrusted Pos Indonesia’s services all this time. We hope the participants can return to their hometowns with safer and more comfortable travel,” he emphasised.

Pos Indonesia initially targeted 350 participants this year. However, public enthusiasm was quite high, with the number of applicants reaching over 700 people. After going through verification and validation processes, Pos Indonesia ultimately dispatched 451 homebound travellers using five bus units from three departure points: Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.

According to him, this free travel programme also forms part of collective state enterprise efforts to help the public whilst encouraging the use of safer transportation modes during the travel period.

“Seeing the happiness of the homebound travellers today is certainly a source of pride for us. The moment of gathering with family during Eid is something very meaningful, and Pos Indonesia is pleased to be part of that journey,” he added.

The Free Travel State Enterprise Programme is a collaboration programme among state enterprises coordinated by the State Enterprise Regulatory Agency and Danantara. Through this coordination, various state enterprises together ensure the readiness of transportation fleets and the safety of homebound travellers’ journeys.

Through this activity, Pos Indonesia hopes that participants can travel smoothly and arrive safely at their hometowns to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families.

A number of homebound travellers expressed their comfort and satisfaction in participating in Pos Indonesia’s free travel programme.

“It’s very nice. Because of that, every year I join the free travel programme from Pos Indonesia. Besides free buses, we also receive food and drink services, and there are games during the journey,” said Andi, a free travel participant.

Meanwhile, the State Enterprise Regulatory Agency together with BPI Danantara again held the 2026 Free Travel Programme Together with State Enterprises. This represents a commitment and concern for the public, involving almost all state enterprises and subsidiary companies with various transportation modes and will be participated by more than 100,000 homebound travellers to various destination regencies and cities throughout Indonesia.

This forms part of state enterprises’ efforts to support smooth travel flows whilst providing safe, comfortable and affordable travel for the Indonesian public.

Overall, the Free Travel Programme Together with State Enterprises will provide transportation facilities by land, sea and rail with guaranteed safety standards, with quotas of more than 64,000 homebound travellers to be dispatched using 1,400 bus units, nearly 33,000 homebound travellers using 99 train sets, and more than 5,000 homebound travellers using 42 ship units.
