Chief of Korlantas, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, during a visit to a vehicle inspection check point at KM 81 of the Cikampek-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road in West Java, said inspections will focus on buses and travel vehicles.

“The first priority is passenger buses and travel vehicles because they carry many people. Vehicles must be roadworthy, drivers must be healthy, and administrative documents must be complete,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday.

He noted that each regional police will prepare one check point at rest areas to ensure safety standards are met from the start of the journey. The inspections will be conducted collaboratively, involving the police, health workers, the Transportation Ministry, and other relevant stakeholders.

“The government is present to ensure that the homecoming journey runs safely until people reach their destinations,” he said.

On the same occasion, State-owned social insurance company President Director of Jasa Raharja Muhammad Awaluddin stated that Jasa Raharja will set up an integrated service post at KM 81 of the Cipali Toll Road as part of 25 service posts prepared along national homecoming routes.

The integrated service post will collaborate with all stakeholders assigned at KM 81 and function as a check point station. It will support driver health checks and provide information on homecoming routes, accident-prone areas, and potential traffic congestion to reduce accidents during the travel period.

Meanwhile, Director of Toll Roads at the Public Works Ministry Dedi Gunawan ensured that infrastructure repairs on the Cipali Toll Road, including pothole repairs, are targeted for completion no later than seven to ten days before Eid.
