Indonesia opens opportunities for higher education and research collaboration with Slovakia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), is opening opportunities for collaboration in higher education, research, and technology with Slovakia.
This was highlighted during an audience between Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Wamendiktisaintek) Stella Christie and the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia to Indonesia, Tomas Ferko, in Jakarta on Thursday (2/4).
Stella, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday, emphasised that based on President Prabowo’s priority programme regarding domestic energy sufficiency through the development of new energy sources, nuclear energy is one of the most potential sources to meet supply shortages outside Java-Bali.
“In Indonesia, in terms of energy, we actually have a surplus supply in the Java and Bali grid. However, we also experience supply shortages in many other regions. One of the most potential is nuclear energy, whose presence is very important for regions outside the Java-Bali electricity system,” she said.
“We are ready to cooperate regarding scholarship schemes, from the types of scholarships, how the selection process works, to how we can select students,” said Stella Christie.
Meanwhile, the Slovak Ambassador to Indonesia, Tomas Ferko, affirmed that the cooperation will focus on national priority programmes. In addition, both parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of digital health transformation through the utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology and cybersecurity.
The Slovak Ambassador mentioned several other projects that can be worked on together, to contribute to community development where 95 percent of the promoted projects are government priority programmes.
