Indonesia Open to parade stars

JAKARTA (JP): Susi Susanti, whose ranking dropped to second
following a string of defeats, will for the first time be seeded
number two when she enters the Indonesia Open badminton
championships, slated to be held here between July 10 and July
16.

South Korean Bang Soo-hyun will take Susi's place. World
champion Ye Zhaoying of China, who beat Susi twice last month,
will have to be content with number three seed.

Best players from Denmark, China and South Korea are all
invited to participate in the tournament, Committee Chairman
Karsono said yesterday. Indonesia, bidding for a repeat of last
year's impressive sweep, will again bank on its star-studded
shuttlers. (amd)
