Indonesia Needs Rp 14,369 Trillion Investment to Spur 8% Economic Growth
The Indonesian Investment Authority (INA) has stated that the target of 8% economic growth requires substantial investment, estimated to reach US$800 billion or approximately Rp 14,369 trillion. INA Chief Executive Officer Oki Ramadhana said that achieving this investment target cannot rely solely on domestic investors. He stressed that foreign direct investment (FDI) is needed as a crucial catalyst to enable Indonesia to become a much faster-growing country. Oki explained that FDI can facilitate technology projects, boost export performance, and strengthen infrastructure development. He added that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals are no longer an issue for foreign investors, noting that global investors are very keen and proactive in looking for opportunities in the country.
