Jakarta - In the inaugural Gemini Report: Southeast Asia 2026 conducted by Google online on Tuesday, Indonesia has emerged as the most creative country in utilising Gemini-based artificial intelligence in Southeast Asia, producing nearly nine million images daily. The report examines adoption patterns and usage of the Gemini application across the six countries with the largest user bases in the region: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. “In Indonesia, one in every three prompts is purely creative. Indonesians generate nine million custom images every day to bring their ideas to life, the highest number in the region,” said Sapna Chadha, Vice President, Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier at Google. According to Google, the ease of mobile activity encourages Indonesians to use Gemini to express their ideas through AI-based image creation. “Another unique aspect of Indonesia is the way they provide prompts. A total of 82 percent of Gemini prompts in Indonesia come from mobile devices. Moreover, nearly half use voice or image input to articulate ideas while on the go,” Sapna stated. Over the past year, users in the region have generated five billion images using the Nano Banana image generation model. Additionally, nearly one million songs have been created in Southeast Asia since Google introduced Lyria 3, Gemini’s music generation model.
