JAKARTA: Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri on Monday offered her condolences to the United States government over the death of its former president Ronald Reagan.
"I feel sorry that (Reagan) has left the American people," Megawati said after inaugurating work on the upgrade of the Bung Karno stadium complex here.
State Secretary Bambang Kesowo said the government would convey its condolences in a telegram later that day.
Ninety three-year-old Reagan died at home in Bel Air, Los Angeles on Saturday, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for the past decade. -- Antara
