Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore, Lim Hng Kiang met Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa, at the office of Coordinating Ministry for the Economy in Jakarta, on January 4th, 2011.

The office stated that the meeting discussed six sectors appropriate to the established working group.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Edy Abdurrahman, Deputy of International Economy Cooperation and Finance, Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Rizal Affandi Lukman, Director General for Asia Pacific and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Director General of International Trade Cooperation, Ministry of Trade.

Meanwhile, besides Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore, Lim Hng Kiang, presented also Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia, Ashok Mirpuri, and Permanent Secretary for Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore, Ow Foong Pheng.

Six working groups discussing economic cooperation between Indonesia-Singapore were working group of Batam, Bintan, Karimun special economic zone, and working group of investment and human resources were led by Indonesia; and working group of air transportation, tourism, and agribusiness were led by Singapore.

Meanwhile, written statement of Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore stated that besides the meeting with Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, Lim Hng Kiang will have another meeting with Minister of Trade, Mari E. Pangestu, and Minister of Industry, M.S. Hidayat, and Senior Officials of Ministry of Transportation.

Singapore has realised the investment in Indonesia in 2009 in amount of 4.4 billion Singaporean dollar. At the same time, Indonesian visitor to the country was the biggest among other countries.
