The Sikka Regency Government in East Nusa and Nusa Tenggara Province has officially entered a new era of digital creative economy development through the launch of the House of Indonesiana (HOI) Sikka Mobile Content Training Center. This strategic programme, a result of collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), was inaugurated at the Sikka Regency Local Government Office on Monday (8/6/2026).

The digital content sector has become a vital pillar in promoting local heritage on the global stage. Through HOI Sikka, the younger generation in Sikka Regency will be equipped with technical skills for mobile-based content production, which is expected to convert traditional values into competitive creative economic assets.

The launch was marked by a symbolic gong ceremony involving representatives from KOCCA Indonesia, the Sikka Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), and the Sikka Regency Government. The presence of KOCCA, an agency under the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, brings global standards in creative content training to the East Nusa Tenggara region.

The opening ceremony featured a blend of the two nations’ cultures, beginning with the national anthems of Indonesia and South Korea, followed by a performance of the ‘Tua Reta Lou’ traditional dance by the Pucuk Indah Misir Studio. This synergy reinforces the international commitment to preserving local culture through technological innovation.

The Regent of Sikka, Juventus Prima Yoris Kago, emphasised in his speech that the House of Indonesiana is not merely a technical training programme, but a strategic platform for building cultural identity in the digital era. He noted that Sikka possesses significant assets, such as ikat weaving, traditional music, and customary rites, which need to be packaged modernly.

“This place serves as a shared home for ideas, works, traditions, and community innovation. I hope HOI Sikka can encourage the birth of new works that support culture-based MSMEs and increase the attractiveness of regional tourism,” said Regent Juventus.

He also issued a special message to the younger generation to utilise technology to elevate their own cultural dignity. “Turn culture into a masterpiece; do not let tradition only be remembered, but make tradition a source of pride and strength for the future,” he asserted.

With full support from the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and KOCCA, Sikka Regency is now positioning itself as one of the creative industry development hubs in Eastern Indonesia. This training is expected to serve as a window that introduces the uniqueness of Sikka’s culture to the world through digital screens.
