Muzani praised President Prabowo Subianto for bringing Indonesia into the Board of Peace, describing it as a landmark initiative and a tangible sign of Jakarta’s commitment to the Palestinian cause.

“This is an outstanding diplomatic move,” Muzani said after attending an iftar, or fast-breaking event, on Sunday.

He said participation in the Board of Peace would allow Indonesia to help safeguard a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip following months of Israeli military operations and to support stability during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

“They will enjoy a peaceful and calm Ramadan together with their families,” Muzani said, referring to Palestinians in Gaza.

Muzani also welcomed Prabowo’s recent visit to the United States, saying it produced positive results, including investment commitments, although many remain at the memorandum of understanding stage.

“I believe this is good news — even though it is still at the MoU stage — as it will enable our industries to compete and grow more effectively,” he said.

At the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington on Feb. 19, Prabowo voiced full support for a 20-point Gaza peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

“From the first day we studied President Trump’s 20-point plan, we completely agreed and are fully committed to it. That is why we joined the Board of Peace,” Prabowo said in a video posted on the White House YouTube channel.

As part of Indonesia’s commitment, Prabowo said the country was prepared to contribute up to 8,000 peacekeepers to support international stabilization efforts in Gaza under a broader multilateral framework.
