Indonesia Invites Investors for Giant Sea Wall Project
SINGAPORE. The Indonesian government is opening opportunities for private investors and multilateral development banks (MDBs) to participate in financing the coastal protection project for the North Coast of Java (Pantura), known as the Giant Sea Wall, particularly in the Jakarta area. Mohammad Irfan Saleh, Deputy for Funding and Investment at the Pantura Development and Management Authority (BOPPJ), revealed that the government is preparing various investment schemes to support the project, which is one of the strategic agendas for climate resilience and national economic protection. “We are inviting MDBs and the private sector to participate in this project,” he stated at the Asia Infrastructure Forum (AIF) 2026 in Singapore on Tuesday (16/6).
