Indonesia-India Explore Higher Education Collaboration in Business and Economics
Indonesia and India are seeking to explore collaboration in higher education in the fields of business and economics to broaden access to quality education and enhance international collaboration.
This was highlighted when the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Brian Yuliarto, received an audience from the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty, along with a delegation from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) at the Kemdiktisaintek Office on Wednesday (8/4).
Minister Brian positively welcomed the cooperation plan to strengthen the internationalisation of higher education in Indonesia, where the potential for collaboration between higher education institutions from both countries could be carried out in the fields of business and economics.
“We hope that higher education institutions in Indonesia and India can collaborate on various joint programmes, especially research in the fields of business and economics,” said the Mendiktisaintek in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
Meanwhile, IIMB Rector Dinesh Kumar Unnikrishna conveyed that IIMB is a research-based business school. Therefore, the main focus of the cooperation will cover strategic fields such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the development of modern business ecosystems.
It is known that the meeting also discussed opportunities for developing educational programmes through the opening of a Master of Business Administration programme in Indonesia.
Through this initiative, Kemdiktisaintek hopes that cooperation between Indonesia and India will not only strengthen the capacity of higher education institutions but also encourage the emergence of a more innovative, adaptive, and globally competitive learning ecosystem.
