Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has stated that Indonesia is increasingly trusted to host various international events, such as music concerts, which are capable of attracting global tourists. "For the government, these concerts are not merely entertainment events; they are a momentum to present Indonesia as a friendly, creative, safe, and welcoming destination," Widiyanti said in a post on the Ministry of Tourism’s official Instagram account, monitored in Jakarta on Tuesday. Widiyanti noted that music concerts held in Indonesia, such as the BTS concert planned for three days in Jakarta on 26, 27, and 29 December 2026, can attract more foreign tourists, particularly the younger generation and the creative community. Therefore, she confirmed that the government will support this momentum by strengthening tourism promotion and collaborating with the tourism industry ecosystem. "The goal is to enrich the visitor experience while in Indonesia, as well as to broaden the economic impact on tourism and creative economy businesses," she said. The government is encouraging collaboration so that such momentum can stimulate hotels, restaurants, cafes, transportation, MSMEs, the creative economy, and tourist destinations. Widiyanti assessed that with good collaboration between the government, organisers, industry players, and the community, music tourism could become a new strength for Indonesian tourism. On this occasion, she also stated that the Indonesian Government warmly welcomes the planned BTS concert in Jakarta as a significant momentum for strengthening Indonesia’s image on the global stage.
