Indonesia Imports 1,900 Tonnes of Mineral Water from France, Fiji and Saudi Arabia

Indonesia imported 1.95 million kilograms, or 1,950 tonnes, of mineral water with a value reaching US$4.13 million, or Rp 73.24 billion (US$1 = Rp 17,715).

The volume was virtually unchanged compared with 2024, which also reached 1.95 million kilograms. However, the import value actually fell from US$4.37 million to US$4.13 million.

Interestingly, the imports were highly concentrated in three countries: France, Italy and Fiji.

France was the largest source of mineral water imports to Indonesia in 2025 by value.

The value reached US$1.48 million, equivalent to around 36% of Indonesia’s total mineral water import value during the year.

Italy was in second place with a value of US$1.03 million, while Fiji followed with US$827,286.

Those three countries alone accounted for more than 80% of Indonesia’s total mineral water import value in 2025.

In addition to European countries and the Pacific islands, Indonesia also imported mineral water in significant quantities from India at US$107,741, followed by Japan at US$98,441 and South Korea at US$78,374.

As such, the list of largest suppliers shows a combination of European, Asian, Middle Eastern and Pacific countries.

In 2024, Indonesia imported around 1.95 million kilograms with a CIF value of US$4.37 million. A year later, the volume remained at around 1.95 million kilograms, but the value fell to US$4.13 million.

This means import volume was relatively stagnant, while import value fell by around 5.5%.

The movement was also visible among the main supplier countries. Imports from France rose in volume from 267,988 kilograms in 2024 to 333,072 kilograms in 2025, with the CIF value increasing from US$1.40 million to US$1.48 million.

Italy also recorded a volume increase from 472,264 kilograms, or 472.26 tonnes, to 496,051 kilograms, or 496.05 tonnes. Its value also rose from US$966,474 to US$1.03 million.

On the other hand, Fiji, the third-largest supplier by value, recorded a volume of 852,747 kilograms, or 852.6 tonnes, in 2025, up from 670.26 tonnes in 2024. Its import value also increased from US$656,244 to US$827,286.

Interestingly, Saudi Arabia emerged as one of Indonesia’s largest mineral water suppliers by volume.
