Indonesia House overcomes technical issues at Asian Games in Nagoya

Nagoya, Japan (ANTARA) - Indonesia House in Nagoya will provide significant benefits for athletes and officials during their campaign in the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, according to the Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Team, Todotua Pasaribu.

“We have designed and prepared Indonesia House as a gathering place. It includes a command centre. Given the current situation in Nagoya, we have prepared an entire floor to serve as a resting area,” stated Todotua after inaugurating Indonesia House in the Sakaemachi district, Nagoya, on Saturday.

Previously, the implementation of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games has faced significant criticism from participants of various nations due to technical issues. Several national contingents have complained about insufficient food portions and a shortage of accommodation, which forced some delegations to stay in unauthorised locations.

However, these conditions will not affect the ‘Merah Putih’ (Red and White) Contingent thanks to the presence of Indonesia House in Nagoya. Indonesian athletes and officials who may be impacted by these technical problems can be facilitated by the government.

Indonesia House is a multi-functional accommodation facility prepared to support the smooth operation of athletes during the Asian Games 2026, held from 19 September to 5 October.

The facility can function as both accommodation and a coordination centre for the contingent.

Indonesia House in Nagoya was officially inaugurated on Saturday, 19 September, by the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir, alongside the Chef de Mission of the Indonesian Team, Todotua Pasaribu, the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Nurmala Kartini Pandjaitan Sjahrir, and the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), Raja Sapta Oktohari.
