Indonesia-Germany Cooperation in Investment, Industry, and Entrepreneurship Development
The General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi), Ade Jona Prasetyo, assessed that the state visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is an important part of strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Germany, while also opening up opportunities for broader collaboration between business actors from both countries.
Ade Jona made the statement while attending a state luncheon hosted by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as part of the German President’s state visit at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
Ade Jona conveyed that Germany is one of Indonesia’s strategic partners in Europe, particularly in the fields of investment, technology, manufacturing, vocational education, and sustainable industrial development.
“The relationship between Indonesia and Germany has a very strong foundation. We see many opportunities to enhance more concrete cooperation, especially in investment, technology transfer, value-added industrial development, renewable energy, and human resource capacity building,” said Ade Jona.
According to him, Hipmi, as the largest entrepreneurs’ organisation in Indonesia, is ready to become a bridge connecting Indonesian entrepreneurs with the German business world.
Ade Jona emphasised that young Indonesian entrepreneurs have a great spirit for collaborating with international partners to strengthen national competitiveness and expand global market access.
“Hipmi is ready to be a strategic partner in bringing together business actors from both countries. We want to encourage more business collaboration, investment, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship development programmes that can provide benefits for both Indonesia and Germany,” he said.
Furthermore, Ade Jona assessed that Germany’s experience in building a modern manufacturing industry and vocational education system could serve as an important reference for developing the business and industrial ecosystem in Indonesia.
He also expressed hope that the increasingly close relationship between the two countries could open opportunities for Indonesian SMEs and young entrepreneurs to enter the global supply chain and the European market.
“We believe that strong economic cooperation will be an important foundation in strengthening the relationship between the two countries. Indonesian young entrepreneurs are ready to be part of the strategic Indonesia-Germany partnership in the future,” concluded Ade Jona.
