Indonesia fields 10 teams in Macau

JAKARTA (JP): Ten teams totaling 54 competitors, the biggest
bridge contingent ever sent abroad, left here for Macau via Hong
Kong yesterday for the Asia-Pacific Bridge Federation Congress in
Macau from May 17 to May 25.

Chairman of the Indonesian Contract Bridge Association Wiranto
expressed his hope that the team will be able to match the
achievements at the Far East Bridge Federation Congress in Hong
Kong four years ago.

In the Hong Kong tournament in 1992, Indonesia won three
titles from the men's team, the ladies' team and the open pair
events.

China, Chinese Taipei, Japan and Hong Kong are the teams
Indonesia will have to face which could pose threats to
Indonesia's bid to repeat its Hong Kong success. (yan)
