Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI) reported a net profit of Rp77 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 81% from Rp42 billion in the same period a year earlier. The improvement was driven by higher business activity and improved asset quality. Financing for the business unit stood at Rp32.3 trillion, up 13% from Rp28.6 trillion. Meanwhile, guarantees reached Rp4.2 trillion and the insurance volume totalled Rp1.4 trillion, underscoring Indonesia Eximbank’s active role in supporting financing and risk mitigation for export-oriented businesses. From the asset quality perspective, Indonesia Eximbank recorded collections and special assets of Rp648 billion. These positive results also supported an improvement in the net NPL ratio to 1.77% from 2.41% as of December 2025, demonstrating the effectiveness of the bank’s business and risk management strategies in keeping the business healthy and sustainable. “The improvement in Indonesia Eximbank’s performance aligns with higher activity in national export financing and an improvement in the fundamentals of asset management, reflecting Indonesia Eximbank’s active role in supporting the government’s Asta Cita Programme, while continuing to comply with prudential norms to maintain financing quality and business sustainability,” said Sukatmo Padmosukarso, Executive Director of Indonesia Eximbank, in an official statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. In addition, to support the national export programme through the Export Special Assignment (PKE), PKE disbursement in Q1 2026 reached Rp3.6 trillion, up 39% year-on-year. The PKE Trade Finance and PKE Kawasan programmes were the largest contributors to disbursement, while the PKE UKM programme had the largest debtor portfolio, indicating that this programme accommodates the needs of export-oriented SMEs. “Through the PKE programme, export-oriented businesses can increase production capacity, sustain their operations, strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global market, and expand access to international markets, especially non-traditional countries,” Sukatmo said. Not only did Indonesia Eximbank record positive financial performance, it also continues to strengthen its role in export development through advisory services to increase the capacity of business actors. By March 2026, the total number of Desa Devisa under Indonesia Eximbank had risen to 2,379 villages. Of these, 199 Desa Devisa have seen quality improvements through institutional strengthening, export management training, strengthening of production processes to improve quality, and expanded market access, including through the bank’s business matching activities; this also led to 120 new exporters, bringing the total number of newly added exporters to 1,774. “These achievements reflect Indonesia Eximbank’s commitment to strengthening the national export ecosystem through financing, guarantees, insurance, and capacity development for export-oriented businesses,” concluded Sukatmo.
