PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), SMBC Aviation Capital, and Mandiri Investment Management have formed a partnership to develop the Mandiri Aviation Leasing Fund. This platform represents Indonesia’s first investment in aviation leasing, with an initial portfolio value of around US$800 million or approximately Rp13.59 trillion. Danantara’s Chief Investment Officer, Pandu Sjahrir, views this partnership as strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global aviation financing ecosystem. “By becoming a key partner in this initiative alongside SMBC Aviation Capital and Mandiri Investment Management, Danantara is investing in a world-class platform that delivers optimal returns while building strategic capabilities for Indonesia,” Pandu stated in an official release in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026). “Through close collaboration with Mandiri and Danantara, we hope to support long-term growth, innovation, and collaboration across this sector,” said Barry. Mandiri Investment Management’s Chief Executive Officer, Baskoro Adi, considers this partnership to open access for investors to global aviation assets. “We are proud to collaborate with SMBC Aviation Capital, supported by DIM, to form Indonesia’s first aviation leasing investment platform, which offers attractive returns considering the risks while positioning this region as a new player in the global aviation leasing market,” Baskoro stated. SMBC Aviation Capital serves as the operational partner, with over two decades of experience and a global network in the aviation leasing business. Mandiri Investment Management brings fund management capacity and investment structures, and the company also holds a licence as an overseas investment asset manager within the state-owned bank environment.
