Indonesia Emerges as Most Potential Market for Digital Insurance
Indonesia is becoming one of the most potential markets for digital insurance in the region, supported by a growing population that is increasingly familiar with digital technology.

I am honoured to lead FWD Insurance and continue the foundation built to provide protection solutions that are relevant, easy to understand, and accessible to more Indonesian people,” said Jeffrey Woo, the newly appointed President Director of PT FWD Insurance Indonesia, following approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
Jeffrey added that FWD Insurance will continue to strengthen innovation to provide a simpler insurance experience while transforming public perception of insurance. The appointment of Jeffrey is a strategic step for the company to strengthen its digital-based insurance business transformation amidst the rising need among Indonesians for more practical, easy-to-understand, and relevant protection services.
Binayak Dutta, Senior Managing Director Southeast Asia & Group Chief Business Operations Officer of FWD Group, stated that Jeffrey possesses extensive experience in the insurance and financial services industry in the Asia Pacific region, with a strong trackable record in driving business growth and customer-oriented innovation.
“Jeffrey brings vast experience in the insurance and financial services industry in the Asia Pacific region, with a proven track record of driving business growth and customer-focused innovation. We are confident that his leadership will drive sustainable growth and deliver a simpler, more relevant, and more accessible insurance experience for customers in Indonesia,” said Binayak.
Jeffrey is known to have over 20 years of leadership experience in the financial services and life insurance industry. Before leading FWD Insurance Indonesia, he served as the Chief Bancassurance Officer at FWD Thailand and has experience developing agency and bancassurance distribution channels across various multinational insurance companies.
Since its establishment in 2015, FWD Insurance has offered various conventional and Sharia insurance products through technology-based multi-channel distribution, ranging from agency and bancassurance to digital commerce. The products offered include life, health, critical illness, personal accident, unit-linked, and endowment insurance.
