Indonesia Drops to No. 129 On Ease of Business Survey
The nation has dropped two places on the World Bank and International Monetary Fund’s Doing Business Survey 2009, which was published on Friday.
Indonesia came in at 129 out of 181 countries, just behind Morocco at 128 and far behind Malaysia at 25. However, the country remained in front of the Philippines at 140 and Iran at 142.
The survey, which compares the ease of doing business in countries around the world, was based on interviews with business people, academics and bureaucrats in the participating countries.
Coming in first was Singapore in this year’s survey, followed by New Zealand, the United States, Hong Kong and Canada.
