Transmigration Deputy Minister Viva Yoga Mauladi said in Bogor, West Java, on Sunday, that the deployment marks the program’s second batch, following last year’s agenda involving around 2,000 participants.

“This year, we are stationing 1,476 people across 53 transmigration regions. Their objective is to follow up on research conducted by the 2025 Patriot Expedition Team and take practical steps to advance programs designed to develop featured products of each region,” he said.

Addressing 2026 TEP members, Mauladi noted that they comprise 39 professors, 10 postdoctoral researchers, 158 doctors, 49 master’s degree holders, 214 applied master’s students, and 937 undergraduates from institutions across Indonesia.

He pointed out that the government would provide all TEP participants with comprehensive insights into the economic, social, cultural, and political conditions of each transmigration region, helping them adapt to local communities and forge synergy with authorities.

“They are briefed to understand the situation on the field because the economic, social, and political conditions of each region are shaped by the social structure of the community,” Mauladi explained.

The deputy minister further noted that the TEP is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the country’s enduring nationwide transmigration drive, which is primarily aimed at realizing equitable development and welfare.

He said the government envisions TEP members applying their expertise, scientific knowledge, and innovations in villages designated as transmigration zones while generating objective data to formulate policy recommendations for regional development.

“Development processes must have clear directions and be continuous and measurable by targets and needs. The Patriot Expedition Team is expected to provide policy recommendations to support future development initiatives in transmigration regions,” he remarked.
