Indonesia Confident INNOPROM 2026 Will Boost Foreign Exchange and Exports to Eurasia

Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang is optimistic about Indonesia’s role as Official Partner Country at the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM 2026 in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Agus Gumiwang stated that cooperation and Indonesia’s success at INNOPROM 2026 would be highly beneficial if it can boost trade volume, thereby increasing the country’s foreign exchange reserves. Furthermore, this partnership presents an opportunity for Indonesia to strengthen ties with Eurasian nations. Regarding security conditions surrounding INNOPROM 2026 amid Russia-Ukraine tensions, the Ministry of Industry views this as a calculated risk, given the greater opportunities for Indonesia-Russia cooperation in developing the shipbuilding industry. Through INNOPROM 2026, the ministry targets expanding Indonesia’s international trade while attracting investment from the Eurasian region to spur domestic industrial development, ultimately impacting economic growth towards Indonesia’s 8% target. The Industry Minister called on industry players to utilise INNOPROM 2026 to strengthen cooperation with business actors at the event to attract foreign interest into Indonesian industry. Agus Gumiwang also affirmed the government’s efforts to promote the new National Industrialisation Strategy, which positions international cooperation as an instrument to strengthen national industrial competitiveness. The minister further assured government support for domestic manufacturing development to compete with rival countries, partly through strengthening regulations such as the Indonesian National Standard policy.
