Indonesia has conveyed deep concern over reports of missile and drone attacks targeting oil refinery facilities in the United Arab Emirates, the Foreign Ministry stated via its official X account on Wednesday (6/5/2026). According to the Foreign Ministry, these attacks risk heightening tensions and breaching ceasefire agreements. Moreover, they have the potential to disrupt supply chains and global energy security, with impacts that could extend to countries beyond the region. Therefore, Indonesia urges all parties to exercise restraint and honour the ceasefire. Indonesia calls on all parties to pursue de-escalation. “Indonesia urges all parties to exercise restraint, fully respect the ceasefire agreement, and uphold international law, including the protection of civilian infrastructure,” it stated. “Indonesia is ready to support various de-escalation efforts and prioritise dialogue to promote the realisation of sustainable peace and stability in the region,” it added. The Foreign Ministry also advised Indonesian nationals to remain calm, increase vigilance, and always follow instructions from local authorities and the Republic of Indonesia’s representation in the United Arab Emirates. UAE Hit by Missiles and Drones for Two Consecutive Days The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has again reported that its air defence systems responded to missile and drone attacks originating from Iranian territory on Tuesday (5/5) local time. This marks the second consecutive day that the UAE has been subjected to aerial attacks. The UAE Ministry of Defence, as reported by AFP and Al Arabiya on Wednesday (6/5/2026), stated that its air defence systems “actively engaged with UAV missile threats (unmanned aerial vehicles or drones)”. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) on Tuesday (5/5) praised the country’s armed forces for their response to the latest Iranian attacks. MBZ described the UAE as “capable, through its military efficiency and societal cohesion, of repelling any aggression and confronting any threat”. The latest UAE report came after the Iranian military on Tuesday (5/5) strongly denied launching any attacks against the neighbouring country in recent days. “The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not launched any missile or drone operations against the United Arab Emirates in the past few days,” emphasised the Khatam al-Anbiya central command in the Iranian military’s statement.
