Indonesia CIO 200 Summit 2026 Drives Indonesian Tech Leaders Towards Global Stage
Jakarta – Indonesia is increasingly demonstrating its potential as a leading technology hub in the Asian region. This is reflected in the hosting of the Indonesia CIO 200 Summit 2026, which brought together more than 200 technology and digital leaders from various industrial sectors in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Organised by the Global CIO Forum Indonesia Chapter, the event served not only as an awards ceremony for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and technology leaders but also as a strategic forum to strengthen collaboration, share insights, and introduce Indonesian technological talent to the international stage.
Hendy Harianto, President of the Global CIO Forum Indonesia Chapter, stated that Indonesia possesses a significant opportunity to become a centre for world-class technology leadership. “Last year, eight Indonesian technology leaders had the opportunity to perform at the World CIO 200 Grand Finale. This year, we are targeting even greater participation while strengthening Indonesia’s position as an emerging technology leadership hub in Asia,” Hendy said in his opening remarks.
According to Hendy, the rapid development of digital transformation in Indonesia has produced many technology leaders capable of adapting and innovating amidst global business dynamics. Ronak Samantaray, CEO and Co-Founder of the Global CIO Forum, noted that community is a vital factor in accelerating the growth of the global technology ecosystem. “We believe that community is a key element to moving together towards a better future. Through community, opportunities are created to share knowledge and experience across borders,” said Ronak.
Women in the Tech Industry Under the Spotlight
One of the main agendas in this year’s summit was the discussion regarding the role of women in the technology industry, which is deemed to require further improvement. Yessie Yosetya, Chief Information Technology Officer at XLSMART, revealed that female representation in Indonesia’s technology sector remains relatively low. “Indonesian women in the technology world account for less than 20 per cent, and those reaching director-level positions are only around 8 per cent,” she noted.
As a commitment to increasing female participation, the Global CIO Forum Indonesia Chapter launched the ‘Women in Technology Initiative’, described as the first initiative of its kind in the history of the Global CIO Forum at a global level. During the event, three women were appointed as Women in Technology Ambassadors: Yessie Yosetya, Nelly, and Juliana Chen. Additionally, the ‘Global Technology Leadership Distinguished Laureate–Women 2026’ award was presented to Meutya Hafid for her contributions to driving national digital transformation.
AI Viewed as a Driver of Transformation
Beyond leadership issues, the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) was also a primary topic discussed at the forum. Technology expert Onno W. Purbo outlined the impact of AI on changing leadership patterns and decision-making in the digital era. Meanwhile, Irvan Bastian Arief, VP of Data and AI at tiket.com, assessed that AI is capable of increasing productivity by automating repetitive tasks. On the other hand, Joseph Lembayung, Digital Transformation & IT Director at Darma Henwa, reminded attendees that AI implementation must be accompanied by mature business transformation to produce a real impact on companies.
Appreciation for Tech Leaders
The Indonesia CIO 200 Summit 2026 also served as an awards platform for technology leaders across various industries through categories such as Women Leaders, Next-Gen, Leader, Master, and Legend. Several figures receiving awards in the Legend category included David Formula, Hendy Harianto, Ichwan Peryana, Irvan Bastian Arief, and Joseph Lembayung.
Through this annual forum, the Global CIO Forum Indonesia Chapter hopes that Indonesia will not only be known as the largest digital market in the region but also as a centre for the emergence of technology leaders capable of contributing to the development of the global technology industry.
