JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesia Coal and Energy Expo 2026 (ICEE 2026) was officially opened at the Jakarta International Expo on 11 May 2026.

This exhibition, which brings together more than 150 energy companies from Indonesia and China, serves as a platform to strengthen cooperation in the coal and energy industries amid shifts in the global energy structure.

ICEE 2026 highlights the utilisation of clean coal, the development of green mines, enhancements in intelligent mining, and the integration of new energy sources.

“ICEE is presented with a more open, professional, and practical approach, bringing together government institutions, industry associations, leading companies, technology providers, investment institutions, and major buyers to jointly explore new pathways for high-quality development in the coal and energy industries,” stated the ICEE 2026 organisers in an official release on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

Amid the global push for energy transitions, the coal sector remains an important part of Indonesia’s and Asia’s energy mix.

Therefore, issues surrounding the utilisation of clean coal and the transformation towards green mining have become one of the main focuses at ICEE 2026.

“The organisation of a high-standard international energy forum is very important to support the strengthening of energy cooperation between Indonesia and China amid global industrial changes,” said Tri Winarno.

Compared to the inaugural event, ICEE 2026 has seen a significant increase in both scale and industry coverage.

The exhibition area spans 20,000 square metres, an increase of more than 30 per cent from the previous year.

Several major companies are participating in ICEE 2026, including Fortune Global 500 and China Top 500 firms.

Among them are China Coal, China Coal Technology & Engineering Group, Sinopec, Huawei, XCMG Group, Xukuang Group, Shandong Energy, CRRC Datong, LiuGong Machinery, Shaanxi Automobile Group, Taiyuan Heavy Industry, CCCC Tianhe, Longking Environmental Protection, and Cidi Intelligent Driving.

These companies are showcasing state-of-the-art technologies, advanced equipment, and integrated solutions for the coal and energy industries.
