Indonesia Center New York Platform to Bridge Local Businesses into the US Market
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in New York, together with vOffice InvestinAsia Group and the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS), has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) as an initial step to support the development of the Indonesia Center New York. This platform is designed to strengthen the promotion of Indonesian business, investment, creative economy, and culture in the United States.
The signing of the LOI is part of efforts to bolster Indonesia’s presence in one of the world’s most influential economic and business centres. Amidst the growing interest of Indonesian companies to expand into international markets and the increasing attention of global investors towards Southeast Asia, the Indonesia Center New York is expected to serve as a bridge strengthening economic relations between Indonesia and the United States.
Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York, Winanto Adi, stated that Indonesia possesses significant economic, cultural, and creative potential that needs to be showcased in a more integrated manner on the international stage. “This collaboration is an initial step to strengthen Indonesia’s presence in the United States through various programmes connecting business actors, investors, creative communities, and the international community. We hope this synergy can support the realisation of the Indonesia Center New York as a platform that introduces Indonesia more comprehensively while opening new opportunities for trade, investment, and economic cooperation,” Winanto said in an official statement on Sunday (14/6/2026).
He added that through this cooperation, KJRI New York will strengthen economic diplomacy and bridge relations with various stakeholders in the United States. The Indonesia Center New York is designed as a platform that integrates cultural promotion functions, a showcase for Indonesian products, community development, and support for business expansion into the US market. This initiative is expected to become a catalyst for increasing trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Indonesia and the United States, while opening wider opportunities for national businesses to compete in the global market.
Meanwhile, GEKRAFS will promote Indonesia’s creative economy in the international market. vOffice InvestinAsia Group will provide support through its business services, investment, legal, and business development ecosystem, which has been built over more than a decade. Director of vOffice InvestinAsia Group, Erwin Arivianto Soerjadi, said the company sees a growing need for a platform that can help Indonesian business actors build global connections more effectively. “New York is one of the most important business and investment centres in the world. Indonesia has many companies ready to develop internationally, but they still need broader access to business networks, investors, and global collaboration opportunities. Through the Indonesia Center New York, we hope to help bring together these various opportunities in a more integrated ecosystem,” said Erwin. vOffice InvestinAsia Group has supported business growth in Indonesia for more than 13 years and serves over 50,000 clients from various countries.
