Head of the IKN Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono said in Nusantara on Monday that the police headquarters would be located within the city’s Government Core Area (KIPP) to support public services and ensure security and order in the region.

“The initial stage of the project began with land clearing. We have set a target to finish all construction works under this stage by the end of 2027,” he explained.

Hadimuljono said that he had visited the potential construction site for the police complex with his aides the previous day to review progress and ensure the project remains on schedule.

He assured the public that OIKN applies a holistic approach to the complex construction, factoring in effective spatial planning and land acquisition in pursuit of smooth development.

“Covering an area of 3.24 hectares, the compound will feature a number of key facilities, including the main building, a mosque, a parade ground, retention ponds, and sports facilities,” said the former public works and public housing minister.

Designed as a hub, he added, the main building would rise six stories and house various operational facilities, including workspaces and meeting halls, along with other supporting facilities.

The OIKN chief further explained that the architectural design had been adjusted to incorporate supporting facilities such as pedestrian walkways and an amphitheater that will double as sports tribunes.

He also stressed that his agency had been assigned to take the lead in developing the police headquarters.

“All instructions tied to the development of the IKN police complex must come only from OIKN,” he said, calling for strict planning protocols to minimize risks of error.

He then reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to implementing measurable and well-coordinated plans to ensure smooth progress of all construction projects in Nusantara.
