In the midst of a global smartphone market that is increasingly crowded and competitive, Apple has found a “breath of fresh air” from developing countries. One of them is Indonesia.

Indonesia’s name was even mentioned directly in Apple’s latest performance report, as one of the markets recording double-digit growth.

“We grew well in both developed and emerging markets, with double-digit growth in many developing countries, including India and Indonesia,” said Apple’s Chief Financial Officer, Kevan Parekh.

Similar signals were also conveyed by Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook. He stated that Apple recorded record revenue for the March quarter and saw double-digit growth in nearly all emerging markets monitored by the company.

Emerging markets refer to countries with economies transitioning from developing to advanced status.

Cook also specifically highlighted the potential of markets like India, driven by an increasing middle class and a large number of new users entering Apple’s ecosystem.

Although specific figures for Indonesia were not detailed, the direct mention of this country indicates that the domestic market’s contribution is beginning to be factored into Apple’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the company’s financial performance presentation at the end of April, Apple recorded revenue of $111.2 billion (approximately Rp 1,881 trillion) for the March quarter of 2026.

This figure rose 17% year-on-year and set a new record for that period.

From that amount, product revenue contributed $80.2 billion (approximately Rp 1,357 trillion), also up 17%.

Meanwhile, according to this Apple CEO who is set to retire in September, services generated $31 billion (approximately Rp 524 trillion), up 16%.

Apple also recorded net profit of $29.6 billion (approximately Rp 500 trillion), with earnings per share of $2.01, up 22% from the previous year.

Overall, Apple’s user base now reaches more than 2.5 billion active devices worldwide, the highest figure in the history of the company headquartered in Cupertino, California.
