Indonesia beats Malaysia 3-0

FUKUOKA, Japan (AFP): Indonesia got off to a winning start,
beating Malaysia 3-0 in the opener of the sixth Asian-Pacific Cup
men's volleyball tournament here yesterday.

The Indonesians, silver medal winner in the previous Cup,
coasted to a convincing 15-8, 15-2, 15-4 victory at the Nogata
City gymnasium, south-west Japan.

Thailand downed the Philippines 15-13, 15-9, 15-10 in the six-
team round robin tournament, which also include defending
champion Japan and Vietnam.
